Although I pay a good amount of money for spotify to listen to non-stop brockhampton all day, every day, I've recently been amazed that most of my spotify listens are from podcasts instead of music.
Here are some of my favourites, be warned, I'm pretty into popular podcasts so these might already be on your list to listen.
Lets be real, our relationships with our partners are not as beautiful as they seem in social media.
David and I's relationship can often be rocky, but never not solved with really great open communication and I've never seen that displayed and explored more in the Neistat couples podcast, where they really open up about their relationship and how they are dealing with their issues.
It really highlights how relationships are never straight forward, and brings lots of great convo ideas to chat about with the girls or even with my boy after a good listen.
As you can see from my previous recommend, I do love my YouTubers, and the vlogbrothers are also one of them.
This QnA podcast is really light hearted and funny, usually something I love to listen to as a do the dishes, or to feel less lonely when I'm walking to the train station. It's also a great light way to listen to the recent news that has happened, without feeling the fear of the constant dread of the news cycle.
As much as I love reading genius.com and figuring out what each line in a rap song is about as my jaundiced skin and upbringing 'Down Under' hasn't been that receptive to fully understanding most rap lyrics, listening is way easier to figure out what Kendrick or Kanye is actually expressing.
David and I listened to the Kendrick season of the Dissect podcast to the tee, and we absolutely loved how detailed it was. Definitely look forward to new seasons soon!

Another podcast that also dissects music, switched on pop doesn't look into the lyricism of music as such, but also dissects the beat, the influences and what makes a pop song so catchy.
I honestly don't have any musical training other than learning out to read music, so this really opened my eyes to how songs are actually so catchy, and what makes a banger, a banger.
This one was a great rec from a friend, with her telling me to listen to the Into You by Ariana Grande first, which I would recommend too.

SYSK is one of my favourite podcasts to listen to every week, as often it dives into one topic into a shallow understandable depth, which really broadens your view on the world.
I really loved the recent episode about the Stanford Prison Experiment, but you can listen to any of the previous episodes. One of my oldies that I loved was the Harriet Tubman story.
Definitely makes you a little more smart and gives you something to talk about with a few friends when you run out of topics.
Honestly the news scares me a little, and watching TV is just really not my favourite.
I do love having a good scroll down reddit, but that often draws me into a little depressive spiral.
The Economist on the other hand, is a great way to understand what is occuring - it's not breaking news but the news that matters overall during the week, and also has great interviews which are well rounded.
Weird fact but I love listening to this at the gym, and it's one of the daily listens I have.
Lastly, you are the not so smart, is one of those podcasts which really surprises me every listen. They have great topics and interviews which focus on psychology and understanding how human perception is really a perception and not reality.
Those are some of my favourite podcasts currently!
